When Tibet was first invaded in the 1800's by the British, they were deeply Buddhist and walked into the invading soldiers rifle fire holding out flowers to their attackers, wave after wave of them dressed in bright red cloaks, dying in great swaths, without once raising a hand and attracting the bad Karma of violence, so intent on reincarnation that death was looked at as a bee sting. The General in charge of the British Army was so impressed, he called off the attack, went back to England, got into politics, and spent the rest of his days keeping Tibet from being from attacked (China finally could not resist having their nuclear bombs on the highest mountains in the world, or whatever their reason was, they took Tibet). The moral of the story.... People you assume would be your enemy, just might surprise you in the end. Here an attacking general turned around and brought these people forty years of peace.
