When the Unions used to gather for a protest, my mom would pile all six of us kids into the van, along with a cooler of food, and one for pops and beer. Dad would have one cracked open and between his legs for the ride. The event would have places for the kids to play, too much food to eat, the atmosphere of a company picnic, but they were dead serious--the working class in the mid west drove the rebellions of the sixties and seventies, not the hippies or rock-n-roll, they all were Johnny come lately's on this train. The Unions fought because they had no choice, not like the kids of privilege who came along later and turned into yuppies.
WE NEED TO GET THE PROTESTS BACK TO THIS IDYLLIC STATE. If we force the issue by bringing small children in strollers to the protests, the police be much more reluctant to use force, and the smart ones will back off and politely work with the protesters. Think of a hundred cameras taking pictures of a police officer forcibly removing a baby and you begin to see what I mean. NEVER PUT A CHILD IN DANGER... but we can change this around, so they too can have among their first memories seeing their parents fighting for freedom.
